Speaking at this year's Calgary Expo, Matt Smith has expressed his eagerness to return for a multi-Doctor story...

Exciting as it is to have Peter Capaldi taking over the keys to the TARDIS, very few were happy to see Matt Smith's Doctor go. Over his three years, he was tremendous in the role, whatever the material, whoever the co-star.

The good news then, is that Smith hasn't ruled out a return to the show in a multi-Doctor story, far from it in fact. According to the actor, recently seen in the teaser for Ryan Gosling-directed feature Lost River, he's already petitioning showrunner Steven Moffat for a part in the next anniversary special.

Speaking at this year's Calgary Expo, Smith said, "I’m just waiting for the next anniversary. I spoke to Steven the other day and said ‘what’s the quickest one we can do?’”.

He continued, “I love the idea of other Doctors coming back. Also that gives me the opportunity to come back, which I totally will by the way!”.

You couldn't be more welcome, Matt. Now which anniversaries are approaching?

With the 10th coming up of the re launch it will be interesting to see if they will do something. I am hoping Paul McGann will be included. Could we do a real Five Doctors maybe. Paul, John, David, Matt and Peter?

I have pretty much written off Christopher. Maybe like Tom Baker in the Five Doctors he can be carried off by something that looks like Casper The Friendly Ghost,

I've written this previously, but repeating it here will make sense.

One of the terrific things about the fact that the 11th Doctor aged so much in "Time of the Doctor" is that this leaves it wide open and always acceptable for Matt Smith to return in future episodes of "Doctor Who" no matter how old he is! He'll be able to appear in the 55th Anniversary episode. He'll be able to appear in the 100th Anniversary episode. His OWN aged appearance will make perfect sense to the story. (As long as he doesn't put on too much weight!)

The Doctor is dead. Long live the Doctors!

It was also addressed in Time Crash when the 10th Doctor indicated the reason was the 5th looked so much older was him. Once he was back in his time stream he would be able to close his jacket again.

I do agree you have to looks somewhat still like the time you were the Doctor and have the ability to act like the Doctor. Hence why I think Peter and Paul can do it but not Tom, Colin or Sylvester.

Matt could appear in the Museum again as Curator of the under gallary,as hinted at the close of the Day of The Doctor.
