Nicholas Sparks' 'The Longest Ride' sold for $5 million upfront...

Are you sick of Nicholas Sparks-based movies, yet? Me too.  But, there's no denying their marketability, and Fox 2000 has apparently noted that.  Safe Haven, The Lucky One, and The Notebook, among four others, made wildly popular films.  Now, Fox 2000 has acquired the movie rights to Nicholas Sparks' next novel.

His next novel is titled The Longest Ride and will be published September 24, 2013.  The story is about two intertwining love stories.  The story begins with an old man snowbound and stuck in his car after a major crash on an isolated road.  As he awaits rescue, he sees visions of his life love, who died earlier of a stroke.  The two reminisce about their past and their rough times after he returns home from WWII.  The second love story revolves around a young art history major and a bull rider from different backgrounds who fall in love.

The studio will attempt to have the movie release Valentine's Day 2015.
