The DICE-developed return of Star Wars Battlefront, which was revealed at E3, has been given a rough, and rather uncertain release date by EA.
During a stockholder meeting, it was stated that Star Wars Battlefront will “likely” be released in 2015 to coincide with the new Star Wars movie. CFO Blake Jorgensen revealed this, saying Battlefront will "most likely come out around the same time that the Star Wars movies start to come out, probably in the summer of ’15."
With the demise of Pandemic, Battlefront has been on hiatus for several years, despite high demand for the return of the series. Now that it's finally set to return, and is being developed by Battlefield developer, DICE, it's an exciting time for Star Wars gamers, as Battlefront II is considered by many to be one of the best Star Wars games released. DICE certainly has the pedigree to handle the task, and will no doubt put its Battlefield experience to good use, upgrading M4 rifles to E-11 blasters and Apaches to X-Wings. Stay on target!
